Recently, Peter Jacobsen Sports and the great people with Hard Rock held a big event that was long in the making. It was the Grand Opening of a new Rock n’ Roll-themed amusement park in Myrtle Beach, S.C. – HARD ROCK PARK!

Add to that an awesome celebrity pro-am, the “Save The Planet” Invitational, featuring some amazing rockers and some great LPGA players to join Peter in the pro category and last but certainly not least… concerts at Hard Rock Park’s new outdoor venue from the Eagles and The Moody Blues!

Peter and I filmed segments for the Yes Network to cover the events. Look for this to air sometime in July of 2008. We started off with a golf clinic that Peter hosted and allowed various musicians to putt and hit some shots for the crowd! ZZ Top drummer Frank Beard, Aerosmith bassist Tom Hamilton and from the rap world, Darryl McDaniels from the brilliant Run-D.M.C.!

After the clinic, we tee’d off for the Hard Rock “Save The Planet” Invitational. We played with some great supporting sponsors and ended the day with an awards ceremony in the clubhouse.

Then, that same evening, it was back to Hard Rock Park and a LIVE Performance by the Eagles!!! The legendary rock group played an hour and a half concert that was phenomenal! The stage included a 20X20 foot video screen that showed video pieces to match the Eagles’ tunes and lyrics! It was a brilliant rock show! The minute I heard the opening notes to “Hotel California,” I got the chills!

Unfortunately, we all had to travel that next day and were not able to make The Moody Blues show the next evening. But, getting to see a live show with the Eagles rockin’ the house…that was something I’ll never forget!

Thanks to everyone with Hard Rock Park, Peter Jacobsen Sports and all the musicians that were so supportive of this awesome event.

Let’s do it again next year!

This past weekend was very special…my daughter Kristen married Christopher Sahler in a beautiful ceremony held at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden’s Palm House.

It was hard not to get choked up as I took my second (and last!) walk down the aisle to give away my middle child, but Chris is an exceptional young man and I am so happy that they found each other!
