Peter Jacobsen: The Businessman

Peter first ventured into the business world in 1986 with the creation of the Fred Meyer Challenge, a three-day exhibition-style event that ran for 17 years and raised more than $12 million for local Portland children’s charities.

In 1988 he formed Peter Jacobsen Productions, Inc. for the purpose of managing the Fred Meyer Challenge and other sporting events. In 2007, PJP became Peter Jacobsen Sports, a sports marketing firm featuring three divisions: event productions, sports marketing and player relations.

In 1992 Peter co-designed his first golf course, Oregon Golf Club in West Linn, Ore., with long-time friend and former TOUR player Jim Hardy. They officially formed Jacobsen Hardy Golf Course Design in 1995 and have since designed and developed nearly 20 courses worldwide.
