I hate to report that I have again gone under the knife! This time for some back problems that developed over these past 4-5 years due to the complications with my hip. My hip doctor, Dr. Mort Bertram, told me that I'd have to address the back problems soon after my hip was fixed and he was right!
It turns out that I've got moderate spinal stenosis and a few bulging discs in my lower back. These were causing severe sciatic pain down the back of both legs. I had surgery for these problems at the Laser Spine Institite, a new "state of the art" facility in Tampa, Florida that specializes in minimally invasive back and neck surgery.
I'm happy to report that following the surgeries I am feeling better each day but will be taking the entire month of April off to rest and rehab after the procedures. I plan on returning to the Champions Tour at the FedEx Kinko's Classic in Austin, Texas...hopefully pain free!
With this time off, Jan and took the opportunity to fly to New York to visit our daughter Kristen who is in medical school. We spent a very relaxed and enjoyable weekend visiting Kristen and her boyfriend Chris.
